Experts say more research is needed to understand why Somali-Americans are experiencing such a high prevalence of autism in their community - more than any other population in the US. Adding to that perplexing mystery is the Somali-American community’s own struggle to understand the condition, but a devoted group of parent-activists are working to change perceptions for the better.
